On Saturday, April 17th, J. Paul Brown of Ignacio, CO was elected by the Republican Assembly to be the official Republican Candidate for the 59th District of the Colorado House of Representatives.



Brown was raised in the Four Corners and the Farmington area where his father, the late Casey Brown, and mother Jean Brown were successful ranchers. J Paul was an honors graduate from both Farmington High School, and New Mexico State University where he earned his B.S. degree in Animal Science. He has continued the family business of ranching with his wife Debbie and sons Joshua, Luke, Levi, and Abraham.

In addition to the rigors of a successful family ranch, J. Paul has been a tireless contributor to his local community. He has held numerous elected positions including 12 years on the Ignacio School Board of Directors, 3 years on the La Plata County Planning Commission, 4 years on the La Plata County Commission, various other state, county, and local civic positions, and a dedicated member of his church.


In the field of agriculture, J. Paul is a respected leader, holding multiple positions of authority related to ranching, water management, land use, and economic development.
